Alex Brown I also believe in this reason as well, because the history of the two families is what kept them separated in the first place. I believe that if the two families were not rivals, then Romeo would be free to claim her for himself. The whole reason they kept their "love" for each other a secret was in fear of how the others would react.

Mahima I think it is very interesting that you think if the families didn't have a rivalry, Romeo and Juliet would be able to be together. I wonder if Juliet's family would want her to be with Romeo over Paris, since they were very fond of Paris and wanted her to marry him. I think there would still be a conflict surrounding Romeo and Juliet being together.

Div I agree to your claim about the families fueds being the cause of Romeo and juliets death. Due to their death though the families were able to truce and forgive their past action and be united now as they wanted to honor their childrens deaths.
