I've read Scalzi and Campbell, both started off really well and then sort of seemed to fizzle in later books. I'll have to look up Mr. Honsinger.

I love Lois McMaster Bujold. The Vorkosigan saga is simply amazing. The characters are simply fantastic. I've got some very battered copies from when I was much younger and didn't properly take care of them. I couldn't ever get into the Stainless Steel Rat series, it was just a little too odd.
