I don't think your last line is fair. You're comparing two different narratives in a vast genre. The only similarity is the usage of a female protagonist. Are you going to continuously compare any psychological thriller based on a female to Flynn? Gone Girl by the way was not her based. I reserved that for Dark Places.
I didn't really think Gone Girl was worth the investment either.
