I like Jaime's theory -- that Claire is one of the faerie folk, or is somehow descended from them. That would explain her magical ability to intuitively diagnose ailments and her ability to heal. She also has a strange detachment from people in spite of being very compassionate. There are little hints about the characters who travel. It would be nice to see that explored. I'd definitely enjoy it more than yet another rape scene!
