Quintus Sertorius

Quintus Sertorius c. 123–72 BC) was a Roman statesman and general, born in Nursia, in Sabine territory. His brilliance as a military commander was shown most clearly in the civil war he waged in Hispania against the optimates of Lucius Cornelius Sulla (the Sertorian War, 80-72 BC).
