Douglas Hurd
Douglas Richard Hurd, Baron Hurd of Westwell, is an English Conservative politician who served in the governments of Margaret Thatcher and John Major from 1979 to 1995.
Hurd is the writer of a number of political thrillers including (with Andrew Osmond) Scotch on the Rocks (1972).
In 1997 he was elevated to the House of Lords.
