Callisto

Callisto
In Greek mythology, Callisto or Kallisto (Greek: Καλλιστώ) was a nymph of Artemis. As a follower of Artemis, Callisto took a vow to remain a virgin, as did all the nymphs of Artemis. But to have her, Zeus disguised himself, as Artemis herself, in order to lure her into his embrace. Callisto became pregnant and was banished by Artemis. Hera exacted her revenge and turned her into a bear, after which she gave birth to her son Arcas. When Arcas was out hunting as a young man he encountered the bear and took aim with his spear. But Zeus intervened and placed them both in the sky as the constellations Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.
