Abdullah Khan Achakzai

Abdullah Khan Achakzai, the founder of Qilla Abdullah, was the chief of the Achakzai tribe in 1827. Abdullah Khan, supported by the whole of the Achakzai clan, took the Barakzai side in first Anglo-Afghan war and bitterly opposed the British advance in the area (while rival Haji Surbuland Khan Achakzai and Saleh Muhammad Khan without tribe's support, espoused the cause of Shah Shuja).
