Robert Leighton (1822 - 1869) was a Scottish poet. He was born in Dundee and died at the age of 47, leaving a widow and five children.

Leighton's humorous verse included 'The Auld Gaberlunzie' and 'The Wee Herd Loon'. His work was published in three collections between 1855 and 1866 and after his death in two volumes of collected works , in 1875 and 1880.…more
