General Kenossium

Kenossium also known simply as the General, was a General in the Time Lord military. They were commonly referred to by this rank. Kenossium was, for her first ten incarnations, a woman.

The General fought in the Time War, often as the superior officer of the War Doctor or Leela. Unlike other Time Lords, the General was more ethical; he respected Leela and the Doctor and felt guilty if ordered to betray them.

The General's eleventh regeneration was forced on him by the Twelfth Doctor to give him time to revive his companion Clara, whose death was an irreversible fixed point in time according to the Gallifreyan laws of time. The regeneration gave the Doctor and Clara enough time to escape. …more
