B.T. Polcari is a graduate of Rutgers College of Rutgers University, an award-winning mystery author, and a proud father of two wonderful children. He’s a champion of rescue pups (Mauzzy is but one example), craves watching football and basketball, and, of course, loves reading mysteries. Among his favorite authors are Richard Osman, D.P. Lyle, Frederick Forsyth, Robert B. Parker, and Michael Connelly. He is also an unapologetic fantasy football addict. He lives with his wife in scenic Chattanooga, Tennessee.

It has been seven years since I retired and it is everything I dreamed about in my twenties. When I was 25, I remember shooting the breeze with the CFO of the company I worked for and I told him my plan was to retire when I was 50. This guy was around 45 and got a good chuckle and said he wished the same for himself but it wasn’t going to happen. When I retired, I was 52, so I was a bit behind schedule. And I haven’t looked back. I have been able to do what I want, when I want. One funny thing I didn’t expect was that weekends took on a different light. My strong recommendation is if you can do it, retire early. But when you retire, don’t just sit around the house and watch TV all day. Do things you enjoy or have always wanted to do but didn’t have the time because of that pesky thing called work. In my case, this included working outside around the house and, obviously, getting back to writing. 😉 Thanks for the question!(less)

1. Mauzzy awoke with a start, the alarm in his head and the emptiness in his stomach alerting him it was five o’clock—dinnertime. He bolted from his recliner and raced about the darkened room, quickly realizing the house was empty—and so was his food bowl.

2. It was just past midnight when he got in his car, started the engine, and checked the rearview mirror before backing out of the garage. Fire-red eyes stared back.(less)

"Lucky Secrets is a good cozy mystery with lots of puzzles, hidden safes, maps and and two dog sidekicks that help solve mysteries. I enjoyed the storyline and had some good laughs with the banter between the two main characters. This is my first book" Read more of this review »
