Brianna is a proud geek who loves real-life adventure just as much as the imaginary kind. With a bachelor’s degree in Digital Arts & Design from Full Sail University, Brianna keeps a busy schedule, divided between freelance graphic design, working on indie films, and of course, writing novels. When she’s not working, she spends her time devouring books, practicing Krav Maga, and hiking in the pine-covered mountains of Colorado.

My Next Adventure: Hollywood

Dreams are funny things.

They can motivate us. Challenge us. But sometimes they scare us. When a dream feels too big, it can be frightening to believe in it — because the more you want something, the more it hurts if you fail.

Turning Dreams Into Goals

For years, I’ve been in this (self-destructive) boat when it comes to my filmmaking dreams. I’ve always wanted to be a writer/director of epic sto

A Black Queer History of the United States by C. Riley Snorton
"This is a far more radical (which is to say correct) take on this topic than I got from Bronski’s Queer History of the US. These two authors (C. Riley Snorton and Darius Bost) paint the history as an ongoing struggle, and not just some hurdle of the " Read more of this review »

I've been going through a deep dive on queer history, and this was an essential text to include. So much of the history of American queer liberation has focused on gay, lesbian, and trans interest groups as being separate from other groups, such as A ...more

Chaos Davie is on my very short list of instant-buy authors, whenever they have new books out. I so thoroughly enjoy reading about these violent, unhinged, fucked-up lesbian criminals falling in love. The crossover with Sadist was also a lot of fun; ...more

I adored this book. It's a lesbian horror romance that patiently, quietly builds in both simmering eroticism and creeping terror. I love how the categories blur between monstrosity and sexuality, revulsion and desire, love and possession. It leaves y ...more

This book introduced me to a concept that really blew my mind.

It's called the RADICAL FLANK EFFECT.

In short, it argues that peaceful, non-violent movements only work when they have a radical, militant flank, which serves to make them look like the "l

“Write what disturbs you, what you fear, what you have not been willing to speak about. Be willing to be split open.”

C.S. Lewis
“It is a good rule after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between.”
C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis
“We may be sure that the characteristic blindness of the twentieth century - the blindness about which posterity will ask, "But how could they have thought that?" - lies where we have never suspected it... None of us can fully escape this blindness, but we shall certainly increase it, and weaken our guard against it, if we read only modern books. Where they are true they will give us truths which we half knew already. Where they are false they will aggravate the error with which we are already dangerously ill. The only palliative is to keep the clean sea breeze of the centuries blowing through our minds, and this can be done only by reading old books.”
C.S. Lewis, On the Incarnation

Joseph Brodsky
“The surest defense against Evil is extreme individualism, originality of thinking, whimsicality, even—if you will—eccentricity.”
Joseph Brodsky

Naomi Shulman
“Nice people made the best Nazis. My mom grew up next to them. They got along, refused to make waves, looked the other way when things got ugly and focused on happier things than “politics.” They were lovely people who turned their heads as their neighbors were dragged away. You know who weren’t nice people? Resisters.”
Naomi Shulman
