Story 2 continues in book 3 as a side-story, as well. And story 3 actually begins as a side-story in book 1. So... yes, definitely read them in order or you won't understand the full emotion of everything and/or you'll get spoilers for the other stories by reading the endings before the beginnings.(less)

It took place in San Fransisco not in Paris, it has the boy next door cliche and the relationship between Lola and Cricket was very different from Anna and Etienne. But Isla and the Happily Ever After is a bit more like the first book. It mostly takes place in Paris, at the same American/French high school. And it gives us more vacation vibes. Some chapters take place in Barcelona and New York too. The relationship of Isla is not much like Etienne and Anna's but I think you should give it a try.(less)
