Would anyone else who's read this book agree (without spoilers) that there is a critical feature of this book that reminds one of the film The Prestige? In my opinion, the film did it far better.

Is this the same version that is in The Science Fiction Hall of Fame anthology? This "novel" is listed as 188 pages. In the SFHoF, it's 94 pages long. Thanks!
