I have heard a lot about this book and i wanna read it. But, I enjoy more when I know more. Should i read the original trilogy or just start with this?

I read this book quite some time ago, but as part of a book club I kinda want to propose this book, because of some of the ideas discussed here... Do you guys think it is a good idea to analyse it without reading the other books in before?
