If you have read the Sparrow and Children of God, how do this book and its sequel compare? I LOVED those books, so, while I'm not a big Western fan, I am intrigued by the possibilities and by Russell's exquisite writing.

Deb Both. It’s historical fiction -a novel based in real characters and events.

Unanswered Questions (1)

It seems that many, if not most, of my favorite authors have a bit of cowboy in them. Robert Parker, James Lee Burke, Larry McMurtry, etc.,all write westerns that I enjoy & then they're back to the mean streets of their particular city.I wonder why?
