I bought Touch & Go not realizing it was the "second" book in the Tessa series. Is it okay to read Touch & Go without reading the Detective D.D. Warren series?

I read this book a year ago and I'm about to read the second book of the serie. I would like to remember the story of the first one before... Tessa's background and the story of the murder briefly. Bad memory :( Could someone help me with this? Thanks a lot!!
