After a recommendation from my sister, I've been searching for all of Walter Mosley's books. Like all great fiction, his has the ability to transport the reader to a specific time and place, allowing a view into a world I wouldn't otherwise know. Does anyone have a recommendation on which of his books you would most recommend?

Otherwise, I really loved 'The Man in My Basement', but it's not a very typical Mosely novel.(less)

SPOILER. The suicide note states that the money Charles is owed is in the false bottom of Tamal's book trunk . ... Charles says simply, "I burned his trunk and books and clothes. " He doesn't mention after first taking out the money....:) Does Mosley leave us wondering on purpose? What do you think. ? Charles does go on to have a museum and seemingly plenty of money so....?

I'm currently listening to the audio recording of this book. My first impression (only up to Chp 4 right now) is that the musical accompaniment, very unnecessary and oddly placed. Can anyone comment on the audio narration of this book?
