I was recently reading a piece of fiction based off of H.P. Lovecraft's works and they were describing the Shoggoth hive mind, where every Shoggoth shares the same memory such that when one knows, all know. It struck me that the shared memory and mutable nature fit very nicely into the Darklings and their nature. Was this an intentional homage?
