Johnny The book is scarcely 30 pages long as is, so an abridged version would be pretty hard to justify. Abridgment is more typical when the book was origina…moreThe book is scarcely 30 pages long as is, so an abridged version would be pretty hard to justify. Abridgment is more typical when the book was originally published as a longer Hardcover/Paperback and is then adapted, which I doubt is the case here.

In other words, unless you have read a review stating the contrary, I wouldn't worry too much about an abridged version or less animals. Just make sure the book is returnable and go for it.(less)
