a very important question! what should I read, the director's cut or the original version? I made the mistake of reading the director's cut with "In the Company of Shadows". what should I do?

Help what do I read now? This was INCREDIBLE but I cannot handle reading what happens next (according to comments/statuses). I need something as good or better (???), any setting and style, M/M/M or M/F/M ok. Just not the stuff Dan does... Subsidiary: 1) how do they books end for Vadim and Dan? 2) Katya and the kids: do they hate Vadim?
