I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and if anything, the sexual content built the characters up to a could-be-standing-right-next-to-me reality. So, in truth, I reckon it depends on maturity to read this series, because I found it hard to put down!!(less)

How does this compare with the first book?

There was a little less action, but the ones that were available were either brutal and made you see how much of a 'badass' Celaena is, or just downright made you want to puke because of the vision you get.
There were quite a bit of plot twists which I also enjoyed :)

I found Throne of Glass less than satisfying. I mean, for being a deadly ruthless assassin, Celaena as vain and inconsequential and flaky and way too soft-hearted to be real. And the romance triangle too was irritating, and the magic system didn't make any damn sense. Does Crown of Midnight make things better? Or is it still the same?

Why did Celaena react the way she did towards Chaol? I know it would've been helpful for him to share what information he knew, but what did he even know exactly? Should he have just been like, hey Celaena, I just got an odd request from the king, maybe we should keep an eye out? If so then why does she think he knew exactly what was going on? Have I missed some details? Did anyone think this was an overreaction?
