It is very clean on the romance level. The themes aren't extremely mature, this is a war book though, so the usual stuff such as injures and war scenes are present. As for crude language, I hardly think it to be overly crude. There are a few references that are a bit off color (One of the planes has a risque painting of a lady on it, which an artist covers up; this leads to a scene about who painted on her, but nothing to detailed.)(less)
