Yes, the Pokemon adventures manga is completely approachable for someone new to the franchise.

While the show is designed for a very young audience, Pokemon Adventures is written with actual lore, sustained storytime, and real villains.

I think it may be one of the best entry points into the franchise for adults and teens. :)(less)
