There's so many racist remarks in this book. A sign of the times...I guess...but it made me uncomfortable nonetheless. How does everyone else feel?

Did any of the readers (esp. Indians) notice a blunder in this book? Jonathan Small has 2 Sikh troopers under him named Mahomet Singh and Abdullah Khan!! Sikhs with Muslim names!!??

I think I missed something- what happens with Small's comrades? He escapes with Tonga, but what happens to the other 3? Does he just leave them?
