The heroine in particular lightens things up with her wit on occasion. Most books in this genre, at least the well written ones, use a bit of wit to keep things from getting too dark. I don’t think angsty is a defining characteristic of the novel either, though again it is there. Sexy definitely is. The lists are just someone’s opinion of what fits. Presumably whoever added this book was struck by Beth’s wit, and that is valid, even if it’s not something that stood out to most reviewers. (less)
