I didn't find "Twenty Love Poems..." the easiest of reads compared to some of Neruda's other poetry. What was the highlight for you from this collection? I did like the organic flow of the lines and intuitive nature of the poetry.

Can anyone suggest a good translation into English? I was reading the one by Merwin at found it quite dissatisfactory. For instance he translates "dolor infinito" to "the infinite ache". In several other places I felt that he did not do the poem justice. I also looked at the one by Simon Harris and wasn't very happy. Any other suggestions?

I'm new into poetry, Is this book a wrong choice to start with? I read 2 poems but I don't think I get it completely.
