I can see how someone could like it, if you enjoy books where the main character has no feelings or brain cells in any way, but it was not my cup of tea.(less)

The show aged everyone up and added a lot of 'Euphoria-lite' drama that isn't in the original text. If you’re worried about an 11-year-old reading it, the book is actually quite sweet and nostalgic. It feels much more like a bridge between Middle Grade🦇 and Young Adult than the TV show does.(less)
