I see this book was first published in 2002, and it does not seem to be an updated edition. Is this about a scientific debate that has been won and lost, like Big Bang vs Steady State theory of the universe, or is it still ongoing?

Linguistics and neuroscience from that time should at the very least be illustrative, but much of it also relevant. There's been no big paradigm change I know of, either. (less)
