JBP's affiliation to the Bible isn't rooted in his own religious affirmations (he isn't actually religious at all). He's so commonly misquoted and misunderstood, either deliberately or unintentionally, that many people who don't know too much about him automatically think he's religious and 'preaches'. He uses the Bible to emphasize and drive home a number of his points, but in a sense of story-telling and historical significance, not religious metaphysics. He may come across as slightly too cynical to be regarded as a full-blown believer.
Athiest or not, it's difficult to find a set of written pieces that's been more influential than what we've come to know as the Bible today, and JBP uses it as a handrail to understand where modern society's thinking had its roots in orginially. (less)

Can someone either post an image or direct me where to find it - I'm listening to this via an audiobook, so cannot see an image of what he says is the Alchemists image. He discusses the images as things that work in multiplicity and unity. It would be helpful if I can see the image. Can someone please scan and post it for me please?
