The book starts with the definition of arachnophobia, then says that Tallulah suffers from a fear of spiders. I expected that to fit into a twist somewhere, but a spider crawling across her foot while she was locked in the tunnel was the only time it came up, and she didn't seem too overly freaked out. Did anyone else expect her fear to play more heavily into the plot?

Judith Here's a thought...we only see Zach thru Tallulah's eyes, but what if her view is tainted by her true sexuality, & she's sending out mixed signals whi…moreHere's a thought...we only see Zach thru Tallulah's eyes, but what if her view is tainted by her true sexuality, & she's sending out mixed signals while he's trying desperately to reconnect? By all accounts (even Tullulah's), Zach's always been a great guy & still is, & even her own mother doesn't notice anything amiss. Scarlett is the only one she tells, possibly making him the bad guy to justify their relationship. (less)
