I've seen a couple content warnings for violence towards animals. I really want to read this book but pets being tortured or dying is usually a no go for me. Could someone please give me some specifics about the violence towards animals (can mark as spoiler) in the book? Is it a skippable section or two, or is it throughout the whole book? How realistic and graphic is it?

I really love domestic/maternal thrillers, but am pretty severely emetophobic (phobia of vomit/vomiting), which, unluckily for me, are two things that often contradict. Could someone please let me know if there is any mentions of vomit/vomiting in the book? Is it a quick paragraph, or is it a crucial plot point? How detailed is it? Thank you!
