I just finished reading it, and although Danganronpa and AYTS both have the same premise, you'll find that their focuses are very different.

AYTS looks at a group of teens struggling with the morality of killing while looking for other ways to escape and evade a ticking time bomb, while Danganronpa destroys the notion of escape from minute 1 and dives deep into a prisoner dilemma style trigger happy death game.

tl;dr same premise, different vibe & message(less)
