While editing it, I realized that my junior high school age children (who are voracious readers) wanted to read the book. So I edited it to ensure that it was appropriate for readers as young as them. There are descriptions of violence, and there is a subplot involved gangsters and bootleg alcohol, however, I would not have allowed my own children to read it unless I was confident that it would be a poisiitve experience for them.
