Hey guys. I have a question which bothers me. I'm an editor from China, and my job is selecting good English books for an e-bookstore. I know Agatha is so popular in my country, so are the adapted TV series. But I just don't understand why the English version of And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express, both are amazing, sell so bad in China :( Why exactly?

Movies that were shown on the long distance buses, and theatres were fighting movies with lots of swords, violence, etc. But Agatha Christie movies are slow moving in comparison, and are intellectually stimulating. It takes time for ingrained culture to branch out and embrace new things.(less)
