The FBI routinely monitors Russians and especially the ambassador and Flynn made it easy to eavesdrop (as did Trump) by not using a secure phone. The Patriot Act makes it perfectly legal to spy on Americans who may be engaged in activities contrary to the best interests of the country. Manafort and Flynn did it routinely to make money. Ironically Flynn is barely mentioned in the book.

Unanswered Questions (2)

I want to get this book for my Grandad for two reasons. The first, when I told him I thought Trump had colluded with Russia, he laughed. Second, because he loves James Bond and John Le Carre novels. I was listening to brilliant Telegraph podcast 'Crossfire' and it has a real espionage feel to it. Does this book feature any of those sorts of vibes? If not, can you recommend a book on this subject that does? Thanks

Did you know the authors admit it's all been a scam? "There was another, more strategic reason for keeping Grassley at bay for as long as possible—one that had nothing to do with money.
