Is there content in this book that would be inappropriate for younger readers? My 9-year old loves Crown of Feathers and would like to read the sequels, but I’ve just realised the age rating is 14-17 years. She is an advanced reader and usually reads books for 11-14 year olds

can I skip all the LGBT stuff? In the fist one it was just one guy prospective and I just didn't read that and I don't fill like I missed anything to big. Could I just do that again? Or do I have to read it all? Thanks
