Hello! MALICE is an adult novel.

This actually has nothing to do with my personal classification at all. MALICE was published by Del Rey, which is an adult fantasy imprint. Anything published by Del Rey is classified as adult. If the imprint had been YA/Children's (Simon Pulse, HarperTeen, etc), then the book would have been classified as YA. That's just how publishing works :-)

That said, I think MALICE could appeal to teen readers. I'm excited for as many readers as possible to find my story, regardless of classification.

The cutting is essential to how Alyce and the others create their elixirs, and the descriptions aren't the type of gory that makes it a massive CW. The blood-draining is only for one scene and it was more heartbreaking than terrifying when I read it. There's one steamy sex scene but it's actually poetic and isn't that explicit. The genocide though I'm not entirely sure about it but it's probably still worth looking out for.(less)
