I am having a hard time following it because of the names. I think if I had the hardcover where I could reference the family tree in the front more easily it would be a lot easier to follow.

Is this a "religious" book/preachy book? I know it's about characters from a myth in Abrahamic religion, however being not religious myself, I'm not very inclined to read such.

The culture is religiously-informed, but even then it's got many facets, of different religious practices. The feminine empowerment is a strong theme throughout. Love it.(less)
