But it is more psychologically creepy than supernatural-scary. Even though there are evil omens and hints of ghosts, etc., the real suspense comes from wondering if the narrator is being gaslighted or is perhaps losing her mind under the stress of her situation. The way it's told, you know she survives -- the real mystery lies in how.(less)
