I am only to page 68, but I am already so (embarrassingly) confused. What the heck is Siri? Beside not understanding what a "Synthesist" does, what is he? Part man? Part robot? Missing half his brain? WTF. Also, Susan James/Sascha. What is that about? Diff personalities in one person? I feel like I should just give up.

He takes information that could otherwise only be understood by experts, and he does all he can to simplify it enough that it can be understood by the general population. Specifically, he does this without necessarily understanding the information himself.(less)
