What ages would you say this book is appropriate for? I know I would have liked this in high school and maybe middle school, but I was a big nerd. Anyone else have experience with young people reading this book?

There is violence, child abuse, near-rape, tragic loss, and profanity. I wouldn't suggest it for middle school, but a savvy or less-sensitive high schooler shouldn't have any trouble with it. (less)

Enjoyed the book years ago when it first came out. The film version was a disappointment, based as it was upon an expanded and changed plot. The original coped with issues like fear of "jumping," making it seem far more realistic. Am I the only one to feel this way?

Anyways, the film was still entertaining and I would have loved to see more. I wouldn't mind a rebooted version that sticks close to the canon as presented in the books though.(less)
