How long after Howl's Moving Castle does this book take place? I know that it doesn't feature the same characters, but I'd still like to know.

Is this anything like the Studio ghibli movie, Castle in the Sky? The Ghibli version of Howl's Moving Castle is phenomenal and I was wondering if the two are related.
