My wife and I both enjoyed it so much we bought the first book in the series and now have all but one of them. I have to do a lot of reading for research for my own writing, so I read the first couple in the series, then moved on. Last year I decided I was going to read them all, in sequence, including reading A Dry Season again. It certainly isn't essential to read them in sequence, but unlike many mystery series, the recurring characters in these books evolve, so it is more rewarding to read them sequentially.(less)
