I loved this new version of Treasure Island but does everyone agree? I have friends who think the original should not be mucked about with. I repeat that I loved the mucking about, but what do other people think?

A fun fact: the greatest mucker about was Shakespeare. Yet everybody seems to prefer Shakespeare's versions to the originals he cribbed from!

A suggestion: whenever you can, read the original. That will help you decide if the book you read was a good or a poor imitation.(less)
