A few yea…morePer the foreword, Stephen King came up with Gwendy and her story, started writing it, but then got stuck midday through, so he abandoned it. A few years later, Richard Chizmar proposed a collaboration, so King, familiar with his short fiction, gave him the beginnings of Gwendy's Button Box and let him finish it. They then worked together to polish it up. When Chizmar later on proposed writing a second novella featuring Gwendy as an adult, King was all for the idea and gave him his blessing to write it. King's only contribution to Gwendy's Magic Feather is the foreword. The novella itself is completely written by Chizmar.(less)

It makes numerous references to people and…moreI would say that you'll get a lot more out of this book if you read the first one before you read this one. It makes numerous references to people and events from the first book. You'll be lost if you don't have it for background. Plus, in my opinion, the first book is a country mile better than this one.(less)
