I found this in tagged LGBT, does it warrant that tag or is it some complete background thing like "she had an uncle called Billy who kissed a guy once"? (I dislike it when it says LGBT on the tin and the something like that is all I get)

There is a passage I can't quite figure out. On p.293-294 Jesse has ridden up to a beautiful spot for some free time. She is observing a magpie that dives to a pool of water. She says "I left that girl out to be consumed by his kind. They picked at her until the coyotes come to chase them off....By then her bones was scattered. Her hair. By then she was everywhere, nowhere." What's going on here?

Does anyone have at least an approximate idea of all the places Jesse passed through during the book? I saw in some answers people saying it probably happened predominantly in Wyoming which makes sense, but I'd love to try to know more in depth :)
