It gives a few more details but typical for Malerman, it does not give what I would call a satisfactory explanation of what the creatures are, where they came from, what they want with humanity (and/or Earth), etc. Malerman does not write typical science fiction, more speculative fiction which he does not feel the need to explain. I've read two of his other books besides Bird Box and Malorie and they are the same - no explanation. I won't be reading any more of his books.(less)

Alise Honestly didn't make sense to me. It also made no sense that the kids could supposedly hear miles but this man was able to sneak around their cabins a…moreHonestly didn't make sense to me. It also made no sense that the kids could supposedly hear miles but this man was able to sneak around their cabins and watch them undetected multiple times. She was the only one that got away but still keeping track of her for 16 years??(less)
