Did the writing annoy anyone else? I got really tired of the use of "he" and "she" instead of her, him, his, hers, etc. I get what the author was going for and trying to make it authentic but to me, it just got really old, really fast and really annoying. Did anyone think it made the book better because of it?

And they weren’t that far off. I think because I’m around the real thing everyday, I could more easily see and hear what she meant. I will say though, the scenes of Edwin and Clive at boyhood were near identical to a friend of mine! I gotta hand it to her, she took such special care with depicting the Caribbean. (less)
