I was just curious if the the book is similar to the movie Nine to Five?

The cover says it is supposed to be funny ("furiously funny") - I am finding nothing funny about it. I'm on chapter 16. It is more of a thriller (well, some reviewers have called it that) with elements of murder mystery. (less)

I absolutely adored this book. The doubts that are expressed by successful women are spot on and add much to the anxiety level of the plot, which is riveting in itself. There is one scene which I did not understand and that is when Rosalita goes to a house with an envelope. The house is described as having a cherry red door, the person opening the door is described as having pink skin, covered in freckles. Relevancy??

Not that it matters, but did the book ever explain the throw-up in the Bin? I must have missed it if it did.

Did anyone else feel, as I did, that while the plot was excellent and what the characters suffered was gut-tightening, that it needed 150 pages of extraneous material edited out? Detail that didn’t move the story forward nearly choked off the excellent plot.
